Sustainability our way
2024-02-12Taking the lead on upcycling, implementing product take-back programs, adopting more circular business models, and establishing new standards.
As a leading actor in Europe of innovative, technical packaging solutions, with sustainability at the forefront, we daily strive to optimize processes to meet today's sustainability demands and develop those of tomorrow.
Upcycling of materials and creating new circular models for our products, where customers benefit and cost-effectiveness are central, are two areas of development on which we focus heavily.
Additionally, we see significant opportunities in various partnerships that drive sustainability efforts forward and ensure a greener future.
Currently, our focus lies in following projects:
- Tetra Pak and Axjo Group have initiated a feasibility study to build a new recycling plant for PolyAl from used beverage cartons in Gislaved, Sweden, with a joint investment of up to €24 million.
- Axjo Group expands with a high-tech recycling plant in Conover, USA. The material composition produced in Conover is 100% PCR, which is very unique in the US market and offers significant advantages when manufactured in-house.
- Axjo Gislaved has invested in the Swedish factory to eliminate the use of fresh water in production. Instead, water and heat are reused to drive the factory's production.
With our long-standing expertise and knowledge, we have established an in-house operation where our strength lies in being able to handle all types of waste and transform them into technically innovative polymers.
- Sustainability, With our in-house Greenology Compounding, we can upcycle all types of polymers into high-tech quality granules used in our own production.
- Innovation, Years of knowledge in our Tech Center have provided us with advantages and high-tech equipment where we can create tools, prototypes, and test the product before it reaches the market, focusing on the materials we have refined for the purpose.
- Efficiency, Significant investments and competent personnel have provided us with a forward-leaning foundation to test material blends and products to ensure they meet the high standards we set for what we call sustainability and what the market demands.
Follow our journey towards a more sustainable future with a focus on material upcycling, enabling product take-back through the construction of more circular models where new standards are set!
